2012 Training Camps
The Barbados Olympic Association has chosen Crawley and West Sussex for its training camps in the run up to the 2012 Games, praising the state of the art facilities and support services.
We are developing a range of links to benefit Barbados, West Sussex and the local Crawley community. In June we hosted the Barbados men's and women's hockey squads for a training camp, with our visitors staying in Crawley and training and playing games at East Grinstead Sports Club.
We can host a broad range of Olympic and Paralympic sports in our facilities. These include a 50m swimming pool and athletics arena at K2 Crawley; the home of British Showjumping, the All England Jumping Course, Hickstead; one of the best international standard hockey pitches in the UK at East Grinstead Sports Club; sports science support accessed by a number of Team GB members at the University of Chichester; and a dedicated archery venue in Chichester.
