Nominations for Local 2012 Heroes

Posted on 11/11/09

Do you know someone who is working hard to make sure the Games are a massive hit?

Join in the road to 2012 by nominating someone you know who you think deserves special recognition.  If they win, they will share the £5000 prize with the nominee, have their picture taken by one of the world’s foremost photographers plus the photo will end up alongside the famous faces of the National Portrait Gallery.

Take a look at the stories on the BT Everyday People on the road to 2012 site to see the first stories emerging, to be inspired to put forward your own nomination about a special person.

Top tips on how to get your nomination noticed:
·
Your story can be about anybody you know who's doing something related to London 2012
· Even if you think your story is a bit ordinary, you are encouraged to give it a go.
· Think about why you believe your nominee is special, and make sure you explain in the story
· A long essay is not needed, just a quick summary
· A good photo will make more people look at your story
· When taking the picture, use a plain background and move in close to get a great shot.

See the enter page on the website for more information on how to join in the competition.

Entries will be judged by a panel comprising representatives from the Promoter, the National Portrait Gallery, The London Organising Committee of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other organisations (“Judges”).

The winning entry will be chosen by the panel of judges on or about 5th April 2010.
