The Alternating Currents Festival 2009 offers a week of events for young people, during October half term week.

So what is ACFEST?
ACFEST is a Youth Arts event in West Sussex, commissioned and funded by the West Sussex Arts Partnership. The event is a countywide showcase of the best of youth arts, made up of six shows, each to be hosted in an exciting venue.
 
25 October Drill Hall, Horsham
26 October Visions, Bognor Regis 
27 October The Martlets, Burgess Hill
28 October Ropetackle, Shoreham-by-Sea
31 October Chichester Festival Theatre, Steven Pimlott Centre
1 November The Hawth, Crawley
 
Alternating Currents celebrates youth arts and culture by bringing together young people, (13-19) to experience high quality performances in art forms ranging from music to parkour.
 
What will be at the events?
Each event features rising comedy star Simon Jenkins as MC for the night. Simon is part of a Channel 4 documentary Dot Year one of 15 young people living through the biggest year of their lives, online and on Channel 4. He just played the Comedy Store in London and a run at the Edinburgh Festival. 
 
There shall be three exciting bands headlining the nights:

The Special Ks
Mean Poppa Lean

Plus….
An adrenaline fuelled parkour performance from the amazing Urban Playground Team

How can I get involved?
Local performers will share the stage with these acts to create a packed night of music, dance, theatre, film, circus and comedy.
 
Want to VJ?
Daytime VJ workshops will run during the day times to make images for you to VJ at the evening events. Places on these workshops are limited and available on a first come first served basis.

To secure your place, you will need to email acfest09@gmail.com and pay a £10 deposit, which will be given back to you at the end of the workshop.

Evening events start at 7.00pm. Workshops run from 2.00pm.
